SOFTWARE ENGINEER · DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI

Full-stack engineer.
Systems thinker.

Hi, I’m Ali. I build production applications with C#/.NET, TypeScript, and SQL—and explore how software works, right down to the hardware.

Currently at United Wholesale Mortgage
Studying Computer Science at Georgia Tech

01 / SELECTED WORK

The interesting part
is under the hood.

Three projects. Different constraints.
A closer look at the decisions behind them.

A LITTLE FURTHER AFIELD

Curiosity, shipped.

Multiplayer worlds and a very small cat.
More places to solve interesting problems.

Multiplayer & persistence

Relic Diver

A Godot 3D roguelike fan prototype with online co-op, reconnect and host migration, plus a Node.js/PostgreSQL account-progression backend.

A look at recovering shared sessions and preventing duplicate progress writes.

Browser/Windows and published Android builds currently use different co-op protocols. Capcom character assets are credited separately from the engineering.

C & constrained hardware

Kishmish Nano

A C/SDL virtual pet for the 240×240 Anbernic RG Nano, with persistent care state, bounded offline progression, and a packaged ARM runtime.

A small application with real constraints: clocks, saves, firmware, and packaging.

Earlier work 03 projects

MunchKeep

Fixed-tick dungeon simulation, A* pathfinding, capped offline earnings, and headless auto-play tests.

PMD-Rogue

A turn-based prototype with seeded dungeon generation, type-based combat, stacking items, and a headless smoke harness.

C# · MonoGame

ShmupGame

Earlier work with composable movement and shooting behaviors, game states, collisions, and JSON-driven waves. Setup needs portability cleanup.

02 / PRODUCTION EXPERIENCE

Software with
real responsibilities.

From data-heavy applications to client delivery,
working where the details matter.

United Wholesale Mortgage

Software Developer

Building production software across .NET, React, SQL Server, and Salesforce.

  • Reduced loan-analytics dashboard loads from 30–45 seconds to under 5 seconds through a composite index, narrower loan ranges, and query filters that avoided table scans.
  • Contribute to a .NET document fraud-detection microservice that evaluates AI-extracted financial data against business rules.
  • Selected as interim team lead for 2–3 months, balancing team coordination with individual sprint commitments.

Red Ribbon Systems

Software Engineer & Co-Founder

Connecting client requirements to architecture and working software.

  • Helped secure a healthcare software engagement and worked on requirements, architecture, and delivery planning.
  • Developed a SvelteKit UI and .NET backend with Azure Cosmos DB; hosted client-review builds and performed integration and end-to-end testing.

ONE EXAMPLE / QUERY PERFORMANCE

30–45 seconds.
Then, under five.

Loan-analytics dashboard at United Wholesale Mortgage

01

The problemLarge accounts faced slow dashboard loads, making a routine view expensive to use.

02

The changeA composite index, narrower loan ranges, and query filters that avoided table scans.

03

The resultLoad times moved from 30–45 seconds to under 5 seconds. A focused data-access change made the existing application more useful.

Outcome reported in my résumé. This public summary omits internal implementation details.

03 / A BIT ABOUT ME

I like knowing
how things work.

I’m Ali, a software engineer based in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. My professional work spans application development, data, and cloud services. My side projects take that curiosity into emulation, real-time systems, and small pieces of hardware.

I’m pursuing an M.S. in Computer Science, focused on Computing Systems, at Georgia Tech. Before software, I studied Biochemistry & Chemical Biology—a different route into the same habit of asking how a system fits together.
